Jerry Smith is the landscape architecture representative on the Environmental Standards Council of The Center for Health Design. An advocate for sustainable design and healing environments, Jerry is on the Steering Committee of the Green Guide for Health Care and serves on the Advisory Board of the Therapeutic Landscapes Network.
Jerry was also instrumental in the development of the Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES), serving on the Technical Core Committee and on the Human Health & Well-being Sub-Committee of SITES. He also co-chairs the Health and Well-being Committee of the Living Architecture Standards, developing sustainable guidelines for green roofs and green walls.
With over 20 years experience in working in architecture firms in Boston and the Midwest, and holding Bachelor degrees in Botany and Architecture with a Master of Landscape Architecture, Jerry’s work focuses on sustainable and evidence-based design principles of health environments, facilities and campus planning and design.
Jerry Smith is principal\owner of Smith\GreenHealth Consulting, LLC, in Columbus, Ohio and is on the Board of Directors of the Central Ohio Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. In 2010, Jerry was inducted into the Council of Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
